Description:
Faces of the Moon No. 2 is an original hand-carved linocut print inspired by the ancient idea that the moon resembles a human face.
For generations, people have imagined expressions within the moon’s shadows. This artwork plays with that idea by transforming the lunar cycle into a sequence of stylized faces.
As the moon moves through its phases, light and darkness gradually reshape each face, creating a quiet visual rhythm across the composition.
The print is created using the traditional linocut process — a tactile, hands-on form of printmaking. The design is carved by hand into a linoleum block, inked with oil-based printing ink, and pressed onto paper to transfer the image.
Because every print is made by hand, each one carries its own subtle character — small variations in texture, ink, and pressure that make every piece slightly unique.
Only three original prints of this design were produced, making it an exceptionally limited and collectible artwork.
