A poetic pairing of opposites — quiet moon, radiant sun — in timeless folk form.

Description:
La Lune, Le Soleil (French for: the moon, the sun) is a reproduction of an original hand-carved linocut print from the Grounding and Connection collection. This piece explores duality — the gentle pull of the moon, the warmth of the sun, the space between stillness and aliveness.

Rendered in bold black ink on white, the imagery draws from European folk art, old astronomy diagrams, and storybook illustration. The moon and sun are personified, echoing the theme that nature is alive, expressive, and deeply connected to us.

Its simplicity makes it striking — perfect for adding contrast and character to warm, textured, or eclectic interiors. This print pairs beautifully with earthy tones, cozy maximalist spaces, English cottage decor, and curated gallery walls.

It’s a subtle reminder: we need darkness as much as light.

What size print should I get?

A good rule of thumb: measure the wall space you have in mind and choose a print that fills roughly two-thirds of it. For a statement piece above a sofa or bed, go bigger than you think — prints almost always look smaller on the wall than they do on screen. If you're unsure, get in touch with your wall dimensions and I'll help you choose.

How do I frame these prints?

All prints are sized to standard frame dimensions, so they're easy to frame off-the-shelf from IKEA, most home stores, or a local framer. You will never go wrong with a simple natural wood frame for my art prints. But I also recommend experimenting with coloured frames and mats, if that is your style. If you'd like specific framing advice, just get in touch.

What is a giclée print?

Giclée is a fine art printing technique using pigment-based inks that produce deep, rich colour and exceptional durability — up to 100 years without fading. It's the same method used for museum-quality reproductions worldwide.

What paper are your prints printed on?

My prints are generally printed on Canson Rag Photographique II 310G — a premium archival cotton paper with a smooth, matt surface, deep blacks, and museum-quality finish. Open Edition prints sent to the US will be printed on Moab Entrada Bright White 290gsm — made from 100% cotton, with a slightly textured, smooth surface and exceptional colour reproduction for beautiful long-lasting prints.

Are prints made to order?

Yes — every print is made fresh to order. Nothing sits in a warehouse. Once you place your order, printing begins, so each piece is produced specifically for you.

Are your prints limited edition?

Some prints are limited editions and some are open editions. Limited edition prints are clearly marked in the product description — once they sell out, they won't be reprinted.

What are the shipping costs?

Denmark: 40 kr.  EU: 13.95 €  USA: $10 for non-limited prints (shipped from within the US) or $80 for originals and limited editions (from Denmark).  Other countries: 37 AUD. Exact rates are confirmed at checkout.

What is your return policy?

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it. You'll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. Read more about my return policy here.
