Size: A2 - 44 x 61,5 cm. including the frame.
Description:
An original, and slightly whimsical, oil painting featuring a group of people all enjoying a cup of coffee. The muted yellow, green and beige colours make this painting fit in most spaces easily and inoffensively.
The title of this painting is Mocca Makker - Makker is the Danish word for pal.
Without even realizing it many people have a really strong and loving relationship with a plant ally of their own, coffee. Coffee is highly appreciated drink, but an often overseen connection to the plant kingdom for many people.
☞ Official Observation No. 024: This painting will be happy to see you connecting with pals of any species
Collection:
This painting belongs to the series, A Kin To Life, a collection of 13 original textured oil paintings made with natural materials exploring the concept of interconnectedness and kin in nature.
The concept of interconnectedness and "kinship" in nature shifts our worldview from seeing humans as masters over nature to seeing humans as members of nature. Read the full story about the collection HERE.
Materials:
This collection of paintings are made with a very innovative process using recycled or natural materials to create a unique look and feel, and be a little more sustainable.
The paintings are painted on heavy boards made from recycled milk cartons, which have been coated with a thick layer of crushed pumice rocks mixed with a number of other natural materials like sand, hay, and clay powder, to create a very unique texture.
Pumice is a kind of volcanic rock, that is created in eruptions.
Finally a layer of oil paint has been painted on top of the textured surface in neutral tones and simplistic imagery.
The oil paint used for these paintings is made from a plant-based oil and pure pigments.
Frame and finish:
The painting comes framed in the dark oak frame featured on the pictures, ready to hang, signed on the back, and with a certificate of authenticity. The frame is glassless to show off the beautiful texture in this painting.
IMPORTANT: Please hang this piece with two screws, one for each corner. This painting is quite heavy and the frame might warp if it's hung in a single screw. You will find an easy hanging mechanism at the back of the piece, all you have to do is to screw two screws into your wall.
Please note:
Computer screens are calibrated differently. The pictures of my artworks are edited to represent the original piece in the best and most accurate way possible, but the colours might differentiate a bit in reality from what you see on your screen.
