Size: A3 - 31x44 cm. including the frame.

Description:

An original, and slightly whimsical, oil painting featuring a scene with a woman watering flowers, but the flowers, her heart, and the sun have all changed places, and the woman is growing roots from one of her feet.

In this world, the familiar order has quietly shifted. Hearts drift overhead, suns emerge from the soil, and people take root alongside the things they tend. The painting offers no explanation for these exchanges. Instead, it asks what might change if we stopped seeing ourselves as separate from the living world, and began to understand life as an endless web of borrowed forms, shared nourishment, and quiet interdependence.

The muted yellow, green and beige colours make this painting fit in most spaces easily and inoffensively.

☞ Official Observation No. 027: Understanding is not required for enjoyment.

This painting will fit very nicely together with the painting titled Grow Your Own Way from the same collection.

Collection:

This painting belongs to the series, A Kin To Life, a collection of 13 original textured oil paintings made with natural materials exploring the concept of interconnectedness and kin in nature.

The concept of interconnectedness and "kinship" in nature shifts our worldview from seeing humans as masters over nature to seeing humans as members of nature. Read the full story about the collection HERE.

Materials:

This collection of paintings are made with a very innovative process using recycled or natural materials to create a unique look and feel, and be a little more sustainable.

The paintings are painted on heavy boards made from recycled milk cartons, which have been coated with a thick layer of crushed pumice rocks mixed with a number of other natural materials like sand, hay, and clay powder, to create a very unique texture.

Pumice is a kind of volcanic rock, that is created in eruptions.

Finally a layer of oil paint has been painted on top of the textured surface in neutral tones and simplistic imagery.

The oil paint used for these paintings is made from a plant-based oil and pure pigments.

Frame and finish:

The painting comes framed in the dark oak frame featured on the pictures, ready to hang, signed on the back, and with a certificate of authenticity. The frame is glassless to show off the beautiful texture in this painting.

Please note:

Computer screens are calibrated differently. The pictures of my artworks are edited to represent the original piece in the best and most accurate way possible, but the colours might differentiate a bit in reality from what you see on your screen.
